Engineer « Launchers GNC simulation »

Description

A position in Launchers GNC field is available at the CNES-Launchers Directorate for duration of 18 months. The engineer will work in the field of simulation for launchers flight control. He (or she) will be in charge of activities related to the development and validation of simulators used for the guidance, navigation and control studies, as well as for the system studies of the launch vehicles. He (or she) could be involved in the coding of the GNC algorithms and their interfacing with the simulator. He (or she) will then perform simulation campaigns using the simulation framework developed, to contribute to the development and the qualification of the launch vehicles. The field of activities will be the operational and in-development European launchers, as well as the preliminary development of reusable launch vehicles and associated demonstrators (CALLISTO for instance). JOB BEGINNING DATE: As soon as possible.

Desired profile

Master degree in aerospace engineering, specialized in automatics and with strong knowledge in the field of numerical simulation. General knowledge of launchers domain, flight mechanics and optimization techniques would be an asset. Knowledge and experience in programming, using most of the following languages, is required: Matlab, Simulink, Python, ADA, and Scilab.

Within the Space Transportation Technical Directorate (SDT), The Safety, Performance and GNC department is in charge of engineering studies in the fields of trajectories and performances, flight mechanics, and in-flight safety of launchers, including software and on-board algorithms design.
